I don’t think this has been posted here yet, and it has been a great resource for information, inspiration and most of all motivation to me.

On YouTube, Scott Schiller has made [this truly excellent series of videos](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIACRGgedheWF4xr1zxiASZ1QqJUfloQ2) on building an 8mm film scanner from a projector and his scanning workflow:

I can only recommend having a look, as his build is both beautifully “simple” and delivers what I think are great results. He also has a playlist with some of his scans that you can find [here](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIACRGgedheVSTM8ve9g2LQe4Ak5bCVU1).

**Enjoy!**

Great find! I’ve added it to the “Existing Machines” list, which you can find [here](https://forums.kinograph.cc/t/existing-film-scanning-machines/36). ANyone can edit it so if you find more, please add them!

One interesting detail is that Scott’s projector has a larger opening in the gate than the same make I model I used, so not all the S400 are made equal. In my case I removed the gate and mechanism. His results are great.
