What the heck happened to the forum for over a week? This happened before and I just wonder if one day it will disappear forever before I am ready to build my scanner. Is anyone backing it up someplace where it could be accessible to the public?

So likely an oversight in not paying the forums much attention lately.
I’m pleased you made this post because I was thinking about making a thread myself. There’s so much valuable information here that it would be a pity to see it disappear like the YellowPages.
Yes, @filmkeeper it is an incredible resource! The big contributors (you know who you are) are extremely generous to share their wealth of knowledge - and I am indebted to them. I have learned a ton here and when the time is right I will build my scanner and be scouring this forum for more deep-dives into the how it all fits together.
As for Matthew and the Kinograph 2.0 I gave up on hoping for that a while ago. I pivoted and now looking to the others who contribute here and have DIY builds they completed and are refining over time.
In my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own, the Kinograph forums, with the depth and spectrum of contributions, is a remarkable achievement, and all who had benefit from this knowledge repository owe it @matthewepler to keep them up. The resources to keep the forum running are not free.
Perhaps my takeaway is that the forum has advanced the understanding of building blocks of the many ways to skin the DIY scanner cat. And it has spun some great blocks, like @Manuel_Angel capture software.
While Kinograph and Matthew intended to make a cookie recipe and cutter, there is certainly great cookie chefs in here, and the flavors and shapes.
Agreed 100%. Why don’t we talk about what that looks like, whether Matthew would like some assistance, and a plan to make the make the forum sustainable. I’d note it’s been sustained to-date, but it has been a long time as well.
