In case anyone missed it, Matthew posted a Kinograph update for April 2022. I haven’t seen any mention about it on the forum so maybe few people are aware… Anyways, it was very cool to see some working parts of the v2 in action during a short clip at the start of the video, and it is inspiring to hear about what refinements are sticking.
Significant updates on the frame, capstan design, new tension arm designs (two options), parts sourcing (incl. PTR roller options), lighting, code versions and workflow, plus comments on general progress being made and next steps.

For any of the forum users who are not subscribed to the Kinograph YouTube channel, @matthewepler has posted a short January 2023 video update for the v2 development to date.
Good progress has been made stabilizing the film tension in the system. Some simplified math which regulates the the tension sensors has led to a breakthrough in this area. Matthew claims this simplicity will make it easy for adopters to modify the base development to suit their specific needs. I imagine this means that if you have a different combination of reels, rollers, and capstans than the base unit you will still be able to apply the tensioning method to a variety of different system configurations.
Other components are working well like the fiber-optic perf sensor, the lighting, and the gate designs have been improved with more than one design to choose from.
